5/18/10 NXT

Wade Barrett vs. Darren Young: *

Justin Gabriel vs. Heath Slater: *1/2

Thank you, Daniel Bryan, for delivering such a kickass promo and attacking Michael Cole tonight on NXT. For one of the very few times in recent memory, I marked out like crazy. If this is the way to keep him on TV, I am all for it. Worked shoots can be awesome, and this was one of those times.

Here are the official records of the remaining NXT rookies as of 5/18/10:
Wade Barrett: 7-4
Darren Young: 7-4
Justin Gabriel: 6-3
David Otunga: 5-4
Heath Slater: 5-5

Here are the results of the third Pro's Poll:
Wade Barrett
David Otunga
Heath Slater
Justin Gabriel
Darren Young (eliminated)

Darren Young was eliminated from NXT tonight. He did have a 7-4 record, tied for the best record, but apparently just did not have the "It" factor that the pros look for. I agree with that and although Young wanted to look like a nice guy tonight on his way out, the WWE Universe can be quite harsh.

Frankly, the next eliminations will be much harder. The four remaining rookies -- Barrett, Otunga, Slater, and Gabriel -- all possess the ability to make it to the main roster. Barring any surprises, the way this is being booked, either Barrett or Otunga will win NXT.
